Internet2 Set New Internet Speed Record

We all know that when it comes to computers and speed the records don’t last very long , but for operators of the Internet2 network, this time the record might just stick around for a while. At the Internet2 consortium’s gathering hey announced that they “sent data at 7.67-gigabits per second using standard communications protocols,” but crushed that record with in 24 hours be reaching 9.08Gbps with IPv6 protocols. This was not achieve on a small local network but they manged to sustain that speed over 20,000 or so mile roundtrip, and it has been said by many that this record might stick around for a while to come.
