The Sony Ericsson W880i Walkman

By Robert | May 24, 2007

sonyericssonw880i.gifLets see what Sony Ericsson have been up to? They have put there big seller on a massive diet and added a stainless steel case, 1GB memory card and a stereo headset. The Sony Ericsson W880i is a very good looking phone with all the feature you need, it could easy be a contender for the best Walkman phone yet. as you would expect from Sony it is an incredibly well featured music phone.

The W880i is a standard phone shape, wide and flat but surprisingly light for it’s size. The keypad is very well designed, avoiding the problem that the W850i slide phone that had very hard to reach key on the top row, but the keys are too small and separated. The W880i uses a 5-way scroll key an they have done a way with the clumsy thumb joystick that was almost usable and seems to be very popular on it’s other phones. Ergonomically we’d give it 3 out of 5. The stainless steel casing gives the phone a real quality feeling though, and the phone looks great both in black or silver.

Like the W850i, it is a 3G phone that comes with the standard video calling and all the featues you would expect from a 3G phone. It has a 2 mega pixel camera, This is not as good as the K800i’s camera, and lacks a flash, but it’s typical for high-end 3G phones and is fine for casual use. The display is a high quality TFT screen with 262,000 colours and 240 x 320 pixels.

Features of the Sony Ericsson W880i include:
