RAZR 2 V8, Hands On Review
By Robert | May 28, 2007
MobileBurn some how managed to get their hands on a per-production Motorola RAZR 2 V8 — if you think it’s not so hot, at least admit that it’s what the original RAZR should have been. The change you will notice striagt away is the lack of the chin bump that was alwasy the ugly spot on the last mode. The semi-touch screen has also had a redesign, with nice tactile senstation though your fingers when the buttons are pressed. I’m not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing, as it could become very tiering after a short amount of time. The pre-production unit had a very poorly placed shutter button, which is slightly disappointmenting since this is usually a well worn button, and considering the time and effort put into the external screen. The reviewers found that the main keypad was great, with a not-too-plasticy feel, and the UI recived a much needed improvement in all the areas that count — snappy, clear, and customizable. The refinements make the RAZR2 V8 sound like a winner to us: a pity it had to be such a long time coming.
