Motorola RAZR 2 Is Looking Good

Motorola has today officially unveiled the successor to one of the most iconic mobiles ever made, the RAZR 2. Available in 3.6Mbps HSDPA, EV-DO, and GSM / EDGE variants as the V9, V9m, and V8 respectively, the GSM and CDMA versions of the device comes in 2 millimeters slimmer than its predecessor and — on some versions, anyway — will be the second to use Motorola’s new Linux-based platform (the first being the Z6).

It includes something Moto is calling “Crystal Talk” technology that automatically adjusts volume and tone based on ambient noise. Other features include external music controls, haptics (read: vibration) for tactile feedback when external touchscreen keys are pressed, a full HTML browser, 2 megapixel cam, the full suite of Bluetooth profiles, Windows Media Player sync, a 2-inch QVGA external display, 2.2-inch QVGA internal display, and twice the screen resolution of the original RAZR. GSM versions start shipping in early July, with CDMA following up later in the summer.

This phone looks really nice! i wasnt expecting Moto to release an actual successor to the original razr (i thought the KRZR was the RAZR2 - apparently not). Sounds like really good features (although 2mp camera is a bit meh) and really nice design - the large screen is hot! hopefully it will have better colour penetration than the Razr/Krzr had… Touch sensitive front screen is a nice touch also.
Was looking to buy the Sony Ericsson w880 as I wanted a phone with half decent music player (and im not into Apple products at all after bad experiences with my ipod) but will definiately opt for this one instead! Plus it runs Windows Media Player! much better than the crappy proprietary music software running on my Krzr. Hopefully Moto releases the brack/grey version in Aust at launch (by October coz thats when I can upgrade)

Got this phone. Love it. So sleek and slim it’s crazy. The interface is the same as the old razr, but the camera, screen and front of the phone is all much much better. The front is a touch screen, and you can listen to music, dial a call, and check your text messages all without even opening your phone. Windows Media player is difficult to figure out but the phone in general is a thumbs up.
