YouTube Pulls More Videos: Keep The Royal Family Happy
By Robert | May 13, 2007

YouTube will be removing all videos that are considered to be insulting too Thailand’s king, a government official said Thursday, this may lead to the un-banning of the YouTube in Thailand.
YouTube has been inaccessible too Thai users since early April, when videos showed up that show digitally-altered images of revered King Bhumibol Adulyadej began appearing.
Asked whether Google would remove the clips, Vissanu Meeyo, a spokesman for the information ministry, said: “It is likely.”
If YouTube start to remove all the video’s that anyone finds offensive there is not going to be very much left at the end. The fact that YouTube/Google are even considering removing the videos shows that they are feeling the pressure of what seems to an endless stream of law suit and complaints from very large companies.
The thing that I think makes YouTube great is the fact that “almost” anything you would what to find in the way of videos is there. To me this is starting to look like the beginning of the end of YouTube. I know it’s not the first time they have removed videos from the site but it seems to be happening more and more these days. You only have to have a look at what happened to Digg only a few days ago to see that the general internet population is not a very big fan of censorship on the internet.
