Google Launches My Maps Service
By Robert | April 5, 2007

Google has added to its Google earth and Google maps service by adding My Maps.
My Maps gives the user the options to customize their maps to show and mark what they consider interesting. Users will also get the option of sharing their maps or keeping them private.
The public map option should be a very handy feature and I can see will become a very handy resource for traveling to new destinations. Imagine that you could view a map that has been created by someone that has lived in that area their whole live and know it backwards.

With My Maps users can:
* Mark locations on a map from a library of icons
* Draw lines and shapes to highlight paths and areas
* Add text, photos, or You Tube/Google Videos to a map
* Add HTML for further personalisation
* View their maps in Google Earth
I think this is just one more killer service from Google and I can’t wait to see where it goes.
