Facebook Hits Google Through Top Employees

We are currently noticing a competition between Google and Facebook and it is not only on the level of social networking. We are seeing a company that will grow from around 300 employees to 700 next year in Facebook and they are currently looking for new engineers at Google.Facebook recently hired YouTube’s CFO, Gideon Yu, eCommerce Product Lead, Ling Benjamin and Justin Rosenstein, GDrive developer. In fact, we could say that a lot of Google employees are currently switching towards Facebook and it does seem like they are drawn to much more than just higher salary according to Rosenstein. Even competition for top college graduates is very high here. Rumors have it that Google even labeled the trend as “the Facebook problem”. The last two months saw more than 10 top performers making the switch and specialists think that around two or more will continue to leave Google for Facebook in every single month that is to come. You might say that this does not seem too much but keep in mind that only the top dogs are targeted by Facebook. Many top Googlers are simply leaving and recruited by the company.

Inside sources have said that Google is trying to fight off the Facebook recruitment by offering stock units to employees. The problem is that the people involved are not just thinking about money. To put it simple, as it was already said, entrepreneurs do want to work at the “hottest” place on earth and in this moment that spot stands in Facebook. We are faced with this trend shift and with the company showing so much promising aspects, we can even compare it with the boom of Google. Everybody wanted to work for Google and now people want to be in Facebook. Unfortunately, nothing can really be done towards this aspect because the best players in the game already have financial security behind them and are not interested in the money gained through Google stocks.
