Some more detailed information on the new 8XXX has come to hand
Coming in slightly below NVIDIA’s GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB card is the GeForce 8600 GTS. The top of the line G86-based graphics processor features 32-stream processors clocked at 1.45 GHz. NVIDIA teams the 32-stream processors with 256MB of GDDR3 memory clocked at 1.0 GHz. A 128-bit memory interface joins the memory to the GPU for 32GB/sec of memory bandwidth.

It looks like this new range of graphics card are raising the bang for buck bar by a very large margin. I can’t wait to see what AMD/ATI have to counter this offer and the price battle that follows will be a sight worth seeing.

If these benchmarks are anything to go b, this will make a much needed addition to the gaming community and should raise the bar for many game makers to take advantage of the new hardware.
