Clarion’s Flashy new 3D MAX9700DT, With Mini Disc Support?
By Robert | April 28, 2007

With all the high tech gizmo’s in Clarion’s flashy new MAX9700DT in-car navigation for some reason they still decided to add support for a format that has been dead for a long time but someone forgot to tell Clarion that.
This system supports almost all other formats under the sun but the inclusion of support for the Mini disc format. I still have a hard time believing that even the Japanese gadget empire will find a use for the Mini disc support. This unit also comes with some very useful features as well, It sports a seven-inch touchscreen display, built-in 1Seg TV tuner, DVD player, a 40GB hard drive, iPod compatibility, 50-watt x 4 amplifier, AM / FM radio, and support for a whole host of audio formats including WMA and MP3.
Getting lost should almost be impossible with in built “3D maps,” and just in case that 40GB of internal storage isn’t quite enough, you can chuck in an SD card or Memory Stick into it for a bit more added storage. As nice as it looks and sounds they might have limited the market reach with a heaafty price tag of ¥341,250 ($2,868) not exactly bargain basement or even in price reasonable territory.
