ZoneAlarm is a very good firewall for the price. Doesn't give anywhere near the configuration options of Norton, McAfee, etc., and the first few weeks after the transition will be painful as you rebuild your software permissions database, but it runs light and is free.

It also has a little icon with 2 bars (incoming traffic and outgoing traffic) that shows what your internet traffic is... Helps identify when things are accessing the internet, and helps identify if things that aren't supposed to be accessing are.

How MANY weeks for this painful transition?

It has just really seemed to bog my system down. I dunno, maybe I need a memory upgrade... but it did seem to run light and fast on my office machine than on my home machine - same OS, WinXP Pro, but there is *more* software on the office machine. Fonky.

Default What Anti Virus do you use?

Hi,

I am currently using the Norton anti virus, but I have stopped following the trends of Anti Virus companies and which is the best. I know over the last decade I have been using Norman AV, and MacFee and FSecure...

I just checked out the google pack. It has some antivirus stuff inside of it. They are free (and also have a pro version). You can try these out. I haven't used them, so I don't know how good they are.

Best Antivirus of this time are Bit defender ,Nod 32 and Kespersky.

Zone Alarm version 5 that comes without antivirus is best among zonealarm versions.

As far as AVG is concerned ,although it is good in catching software but it is very heavy on system
