How many web sites are you running - Feed The Geeks

Hi,

I have been sitting with the idea to start up some web sites, one or two for some games I am playing Civilization, and one for some interests of mine, and one for my application I have developed and would like to sell.

I was wondering if you are running any websites, and if so how many? Also are you doing anything specific for attracting viewers?

I only have one, but it's not quite ready to be available to others, i am maybe half way through it and until i have finished the whole thing i think i will let others know, maybe putting it in my signature link in forums i have joined, i might have to look for some other ideas of how i can get more viewers.

I'm currently working on three sites. All are not ready yet. I can only work on them during my spare time and it's been like more than a month now and they're not even half way finished.

I have about 6 domains but I only have three active sites. One is a fansite. One is a forum. And another is a business site.

I have a livejournal blog. I'm thinking of buying a domain so I can transfer all my livejournal posts.

I have 3 sites, all run by me. I put a link to mine in the forums I belong to. I host them all on a mac mini.

I do not have any active as yet, but I am busy putting together my forum, which will also have a blog and normal website associated with it as well. I am only in design phase and will most likely roll out incremental, with the forum, blog and then at the end the pure web site.

Just changed my server to a NetServer HP LC3. It runs Ubuntu Linux server edition (text only) using LAMP. Still hosted by me.

I have about 40 websites and well over 200 domains. I run websites as a living though, and i have two dedicated servers paying $1300 a month for the two (but they are meaty SUN's), i have been doing it since late 2002 and didnt make a penny until 2004

wow, now this is a role model right here, I am currently running two websites, one a forum and the other under development, aiming for around 5 websites once these two kick off properly. And just earning a few pennies here and there once in a while.

Can you tell me more about SUN? Do you use solaris? Is that based on UNIX?

I would like to learn about them.
