Default hosting my own site

I use apache, but my ISP dosn't provide real ip's i.e. not accesible from the net
so i can't do it on my PC

Try using No-IP - Dynamic DNS, Static DNS for Your Dynamic IP. You can download their program to automatically update your account. That should work if you don't have a static ip.

yes, either use NOIP or dyndns.com both work equally well...

What happens is they give you a free sub domain,and you give that out.

Wow, I didnt know about the IP conversion. I was thinking of setting up a web server on my old pentium, running Linux and Apache.... Now I might be able to do it after all, just need to get the PC up and running...

Same here, after this i am running to my store pulling out my pentium 3 that i dont use and putting linux ubuntu on it (thought, does any one know of a better linux to use as a server?). Going to use it for my personal website, then maybe later just put another extra website on it for fun.

Nope. I use ubuntu server (text only - NO GUI) for my websites.
