Default Godaddy

I signed up for a domain name/website package at Godaddy, and its fine.

The only thing I didn't realize is this. Sites like Yahoo may charge only a few dollars for a domain name and then charge you more, of course, for the site. Godaddy offers a domain name package the includes the basic website, but then they call your site "free" and put an ad on it that tells the public its a free site.

It never occurred to me that essentially paying the same amount for a domain name and website as I paid on Yahoo would result in having the site "branded" with this announcement that its free. Now I know better, but I thought I mention this so other people know.

I have been thinking of using GoDaddy as my registrar, for the domains i purchase and then of course host them somewhere else.

How are you experience with GoDaddy as registrar?

I have one domain registered with GoDaddy, not through choice.

They do everything they are meant too, but their site sucks.

It's a pain in the butt to find anything and every time you move they try and offer you some over priced addon service that you don't need.

I now have all of my domains registered with Namecheap.com, and I love their site and service. It's very simple to use and they just do what you ask and don't try and scam you into buying some thing you don't need
