I was wondering if anyone could point me to a good site to read up on about page rank.
Why is it good or bad to have a good rank? What does it really mean to have a good page ranking.

I don't worry about Page Rank at all. It can be gamed just like the Alexa ranking, but Page Rank should be taken with a pinch of salt and Alexa rankings should be used as a guideline only. Page Rank does matter when you're selling text links as people can be superficial like that, but that's the only real reason I would worry about Page Rank. Worry more about getting some good content on your website that people would like to read - that is 1 aspect that so many people overlook these days, and also the majority of websites' downfalls. Content is king, after all.

I know it's not important but I want a higher PR. But I want it only for display not for any of that SEO stuff. I don't even do fancy SEO tricks. People seem to trust websites with higher Pagerank.

Yeah i have heard that before as well on other forum discussions but i've always wondered why lol, i also agree with "Worry more about getting some good content on your website that people would like to read" that is very true and also something i haven't really seen around when learning about the internet world.
