Default System Requirements for Good games

My computer blows, and I'm thinking about upgrading soon. So i was wondering, what do you guys think i should get? What processor, RAM, and how big of a HDD. Also, what GFX cards etc.... Thanks.

I think the parameters are good, but there's more to it than just Cpu speeds, amount of memory, Ram and video. Memory speeds, hard drive types (UDMA--SATA). Front side buss speed plays a big part in making it all run as fast as possible. And overclocking won't make up for lacking speeds and will only lead to instabilities.

Well i have to differnt systems that i use for gaming,

AMD X2 3800+ @2.8GHz
2Gig Of RAM
7900GT

Everything else is pretty much standard

I also have a,

Intel Core2 E6600
4Gig of Ram
2x 250Gig Seagates in RAID0
8800GTX

For the games i play, i see very little difference between the two.

It all depends on what you want to play and most importantly what resolution do you want to play it at.
