Default Battlefield games

Anyone here play Battlefield 2 or Battlefield 2142? I'm a BF2 addict right now, but wanted to know what people prefer out of the two.

I love battlefield 2, but I can't stand 2142.

I bought 2142 when it first came out, hoping it would be as good if not better the BF2, I played two rounds and I haven't touched it since.

I was a bit pissed, It was a very expensive game when it first came out. Lesson learned.

I bought both at the same time, part of a promotion. I played a handful of rounds of BF2142 (during the stats outage, reminding me why I stopped buying EA games), but ended up back on BF2. I'm with you, I just can't get into 2142... the whole atmosphere is all wrong, the gameplay is weird...

The upside is that it isn't like WoW or another account based game, you can sell BF2142 used. Did you try that?

I have thought about selling it, but I may get into it later, so I will probably just keep it.

It might make a good door stop one day.

I'll throw in my copy of Black and White 2. I have never seen such an amazing drop in gameplay from one game to the next. I couldn't even sell the damn thing.

lol,

I have never played that game. I have seen a few games go down hill in a big way with the release of a new version.

They always try to add new stuff, but for some reason they always take away the things that made it great to begin with.

You nailed it!! Black and White was a god simulation where you train a creature to do your bidding (it was fun... just take my word for it...). Black and White 2, they added poorly controlled AI armies, removed skirmish settings, and oversimplified the rest of gameplay. It was the biggest drop in the series I could have imagined.

2142 wasn't as bad as that was.

Black and White is legendary although I got bored of it for a while. I also thought BW2 looked better than the 1st, obviously not. Might dig it out soon.

Ridman, I have got all the battlefield games and BF2 is far and beyond the best version with the Special Forces expansion pack. 2142 is just too futuristic, not as real life as BF2. Now playing COD 4. Very past paced game play takes a bit of getting use to after BF2.
