Default got ubuntu working

On the laptop, I used wubi, and got a ubuntu/windows dualboot.

Works nice, but because NDISWRAPPER doesn't install, I'll have to wait till I get home to install the wireless card, via ethernet.

... WHATEVER YOU DO... If you start booting it up, and decide you dont want to use it, wait till it boots up, and then turn it off....

I used WUBI to install it and turned it off while it was booting up, and now I can't use windows OR linux..

And I can't find my restore cd, to try to fix it..

I am having a terrible week

I've never had that problem with ubuntu. What happens when you turn on your computer? Do you reach the grub bootloader? If not, just reinstall it with the super grub live cd.

Wubi doesn't use GRUB. It uses the Windows boot loader, and it wouldn't come up.

It came up with a menu asking me if I want to use Safemode or start windows normally or whatever.

So I start windows and it gave me a BSOD, and restarted...

I fixed it though.. Reinstalled windows, then reinstalled Linux.

Well, from the sound of it, nothing got added to the boot loader. Thats where super grub comes in handy. It'll let you boot an OS by telling it what partition it is on.

I don't know. Visit Wubi - The Easiest Way to Linux for the info..

It's working now.

I have Ubuntu Linux installed and to be honest i am a little disappointed. I thought i was going to have a dual boot but instead i ended up overwriting my windows installation so now i am stuck with Linux on a 1024x768 on a 17" wide screen laptop. It sucks so bad

ask in ubuntuforums.org for how to change resolution, if it won't change in the GUI. Usually, you can edit /X11/etc/xorg.conf and change the resolution.
