Lightbulb Help me shop for Wii games!

I'm looking for Wii games appropriate for a ten year old boy. Well, maybe twelve year old - he's more advanced than his chronological age.

I'm picking up a new Wii for his birthday this evening, but it only arrives with the sports package. Links/recommendations and good deals for games, please?

I'm not much of a gamer and so I'm clueless about what's new, cool, available, appropriate, etc. I would prefer games without gore and/or sexual references. Thanks!

I've heard good thing about Super Paper Mario and is one of the more popular games for the Wii, I believe.

Check it out here: Us.Wii.com -- The Global Wii Experience Website in English

Hah. That looks great! Young'un is a Mario FREAK. He loves everything Mario, much as I did back when I was still playing Donkey Kong back in the arcade. LOL.

What about games (other than the sports games specifically) that he needs to get up and move for? Dance? Adventure? Martial arts...?

What about something like WiiPlay?
Wii.Nintendo.com - In-Depth Regional Wii Coverage
It is mini-games, but some are sports related.

Also, Wario Wave Smooth Moves has like 200 mini-games.

It seems like it might be fun.

I just saw a commerical for Mario Party 8, and it looks like a great family-type game.

I would definetely try WarioWare Smooth Moves for something you want him moving for.

Another great game is Rayman Raving Rabids.

These games both require movement, mostly WarioWare.

Downside to Warioware is all mini-games are only 4 seconds, you have to think FAST. I am not exaggerating either, it is exactly 4 seconds!

Right now the Warioware looks like the ticket. Four seconds?? Yowza. I'll look up Rayman Raving Rabids. Is it Rabids or Rapids? Or Rabbits? I could get behind some raving rabbits.

Thanks guys. You've been a great help!

Hey Heather, hopefully you found some good games.

I'm curious. Did you have any trouble actually getting a Wii console?

My impression is that they're still pretty scarce.
