Why not? As long as you buy more than $15 worth of music in the month, you save money. I would maybe do it for a month, buy all the music I want, and then stop.

Oh ok, I know this.

There is sort of a catch to this whole thing.

It is $15 per month... BUT you only get the songs for that period of time... Let me explain.

January 1: You pay $15 for service.
Month of January: You download 250 songs.
February 1: You pay the $15 for service
Month of February: You continue to listen to previous songs and continure to download.
March 1: You do not pay the monthly fee.
You can no longer listen to the previous songs!!!
April 23: You decide to get the service again and you pay $15
You may now listen to all the previous songs and may continue to download.

This is a great plan imo. There are ways to bypass the time limit, but stealing is for squares.

I hope everyone understands.

If they put some kind of gay time limit on it, I'd probably never want to have anything to do with Apple again.

Besides, what if I went out of the country for two months, and I had all my songs on my iPod? If it expires on my iPod, I'd probably want to kick a rabbit in the teeth, but if it didn't, how would Apple enforce this if people just burned all their songs to discs, or something like that?

If apple were to do that, I would also probably stop using itunes, and start using one of the online music stores. DRM is annoying enough, but getting locked into a subscription service would be supper annoying. And true, there are always ways to get around it, but apple shouldn't have the time limit in the first place.

Right on. I wouldn't use iTunes anymore, either.

I wondered about that sort of thing when I saw that Rogers' phone service was offering a bunch of free songs, too. I think it was unlimited?

I know that ACTRA in Canada went on strike for the first time in its 64 year history over payment for use of content on the Internet, and SAG and the director's and writer's guilds will be renegotiating soon, too.
