Social Sites

Anyone a member of any social sites, such as Facebook or Myspace? I really can't stand them too much, especially Myspace. Facebook is a really good way to stay in contact with some people. I am a member of both though unfortunately.

I use Facebook to stay in touch with my friends that I sometimes don't have enough time to visit or talk to, so a simple wall post saying 'hi' keeps the friendship going. I despise all other networking sites though, especially myspace.com, because so many inexperienced teenagers make horrible design schemes and music on their web pages.

I had a page at MySpace for about 24 hours. I took it down because it revealed more information about me than I really wanted to display. I registered for a means to promote my content. I just did not have the time to devote to the necessary social networking to develop a good sized readership and I did not want to leave my MySpace page just hanging there. So it went kaput.

I have signed for Facebook and never used it either. I guess I just don't have the time to socialize or I am just not that interested in socializing just for the sake of socializing. For me, the computer and the internet are a means of working.

I am a member of many social sites such as myspace, facebook and squidoo..

First i used to like myspace a lot, but my page had become a spam book instead of my pure profile.
So facebook is a lot better and also squidoo is a good one for our profile info display

I was not aware of Squidoo being a social network. I see that you can bookmark pages and I was thinking of using its services for that purpose. I may get around to checking it out sometime still.

I have a myspace profile for myself and another one for my largest web site. I let someone else deal with the latter. Myspace makes my eyes bleed - I can't take it for long, but it IS good for site promotion, particularly if you join appropriate groups with your profile.

there a lot of communities nowadays.. im a member of almost all. However now im a kinda active only in orkut. its just ur same friends where ever u sign up. ...

Okay, I see now how to use MySpace. I went in there not really knowing what I should do. So, I can go back, join communities and promote my stuff that way. Maybe I will go back and try it again. Thanks.
