Apart from having a website, is there any other means of making money from the net ? I need to know more legitimate means.

I think it is impossible to have a business that is on the internet with out having a web site.

All the internet is, is a network of sites all linked together.

Web page is not a necessity in doing business online. Lots of money can be made by using other web pages, like selling items on auctions, eBay, selling services eLance, RentACoder, Guru. Money can also be made through using forums, chat rooms, email, Myspace etc.

Web page is not a requirement to make money of the above, but you could easily multiply your income with a web page.

Websites are not required to make money in the web. If you have excellent writing skills, you can offer your services to write content for sites. Same for graphic skills. Or you can join contest sites like Worth1000.com | Photoshop Contests | Are you Worthy™ | home page and win some big bucks. SOme of their logo contests offers up to $700 bucks for prize money (they are sponsored by private companies who wants a new logo or banner).

There are a lot of survey sites that you can sign up on and get easy money. Some are a ripoff though, and some have REALLY high minimum payouts.

That is very true, I'm sure there are alot of ways to earn a good amount of cash without having to own a website, i have found a few that gets me where i need to be, but i'm still looking for more things, you could also check out some paid to's just as a side thing i suppose because it's not all that much, but i'm sure you'll find something.
