Which search engine do you guys use? Which do you optimize for?

Personally, I use Google for its clean interface, relevant results, and big database.

I optimize for Google as well, as it seems to be the most popular engine.

I use google for my searches. This is mainly due to the fact that I get slightly better results with it. I don't really optimize my sites for any search engine. I mainly deal with small local sites, and don't need to attract people through searches.

Have any of you been subjugated to the new layout? I have heard that they are randomly testing a new layout (it has a sidebar, instead of having the engine options above the search box).

Well, they haven't changed my layout. However, you can test out the sidebar for yourself. Go to Google Experimental Search. There, you can tryout some of their new features.

I dont have a problem with it, but I liked the old Google layout more than the new one...

Personally I use google, but would like to start using live more often.

Ask.com is starting to get better too.
