I believe the ads are fine, however, they should be removed from the forum home display. They should only be viewable on new posts, new threads and those already existing.

The text adds are just a test at the moment, if all goes well they will replace the Google adsense.

I think they are a lot less intrusive then the Google adds and so far they seem to make more money but only time will tell.

I was also thinking for a small donation you could have the option for no adds at all. I'm not sure how hard that would be to do but i will look in to it.

As i have said before i would love to have no adds but all this is not free and as time goes by i would like to drop the adds for an other source of income but that wont be happening for a while.

I'm not even going to start talking about English skills, as i would loss very badly. As i have said before, there is only one thing worst then my typing and thats my spelling.

Do you mean lose and worse (as well as a couple other things)? Sorry, I just couldn't resist. :-)

Depending on the amount, I would make a monetary donation in order to have no ads. I am not sure if anyone else would be willing to do that though until the forum gets more members/posts.

Ok, I feel better now.. lol

Also, the donation thing shouldn't be hard. Just make a membergroup, and as a member pays, just add that member to the membergroup with no ads.

One major correction you missed was to correct then to than in the last sentence that Robert wrote.

Okay ladies, stop your bitching

It's a lot harder then just making a new usergroup . I have to make a new user group and then/than go thought all the template changes and use if commands to exclude that usergroup from loading adds. Big stuff around, but if people would prefer that i would be more then/than happy to do it.

Any idea how much of a donation would be needed in order to get rid of the ads?

Not sure just yet. It wont be very much for the moment as the adds are making very little on their own.

I will have a look in to it tonight and see how hard it's going to be and how the easiest way to take payment will be and get back to you.

Ok.

Another way, if it's set up like SMF, and you modified the actual theme files, make an unmodified version, and make it so ONLY people in the membergroup of paid people can use THAT NEW theme.
