I know I'm gonna catch flames for this, but since i can't afford a mac, can it be installed on my Dell?

Since the Intel Mac's, OS X has supported all PC hard. It's not the easiest thing in the world to but if you like a bit hacking and driver hunting then it's well worth a shot

its actually quite easy if you use os x86. google it you will find everything

Depending on what hardware you have it can be very hard or impossible to find drivers for somethings.

OSX only supports hardware that comes in a Mac if you have something in your computer that doesn't come in a Mac then you will have a very hard time finding drivers.

Still not impossible.

It's not right. Have I done it, yes, but is it right, NO!!

Don't do it.. Save up your spare change and go for a mac mini.

It's also illegal, and against the Agreement of Apple.

I'm not saying I haven't/dont do it, but I'm saying its not right.

Can someone explain to me why Apple refuses to allow people to install their OS on a non-Apple computer? Mac is a very good operating system, and could probably hold its own without the expensive hardware to go with.

That's easy.. They would lose money. The hardware, is most of what they make money off of.

$100 for Tiger < $1,000 for an iMac.

That's why. and I agree with them.
