Nintendo, Winner of the Game Consoles War
By Robert | September 19, 2007

The Nintendo Wii is the game console that sold most units in July and August, with 9 million consoles. This is just above Microsoft’s Xbox 360, which only got 8.9 million units sold. DailyTech was the first that announced that Nintendo surpassed Xbox 360 last month. The news was not really believed at that point but now we have another institution, with much more credibility behind it saying the same thing. The Financial Times analyzed sales stats from around the world and determined that the Nintendo Wii was the game console that sold the most units. The biggest gain was in the fact that Nintendo Wii captivated people of all ages thanks to the increased level of psychical interactivity. It will be interesting to see whether Wii sales will get even higher once the newly announced Wii Zapper will be released. We will just have to wait and see and never rule out the competition, especially Microsoft as they are pretty close in the charts. It will surely be an interesting holiday season.
