Safari For Windows, Not So Bad

Apple has released a version of Safari for Windows. It’s still in beta, but from the small amount I have used it, their didn’t seem to be any major bugs. I have used Mac’s before and I am a big fan of what they do but I have never used Safari as all the Mac I have come across, always had Firefox installed.

The difference between Firefox and safari are not huge, but they are definitely noticeable. The first thing I noticed was that Safari seems to render everything in a Mac type fashion. All objects on the screen seem to have that rounded, bubbly Apple look to them, which is a nice change from Firefox’s very straight and sharp style.

I have really enjoyed my experience with Safari so far. The only thing that would hold me back from making it my full time browser on Windows would be the lack of add-on’s and plug-in like Firefox is known for. I have very few plug-ins installed in my Firefox browser but the ones I have, I can’t live without. Compared to Internet Explorer, Safari wins hands down. It is faster, cleaner and just an all round nicer experience. If Apple can have the community around Safari be as creative as the Firefox community they will have a winner on their hands, but for now, I’m off to fire up the old faithfull Firefox.
