There is no sense in recapping all the success that the iPhone had after its launch on June 29. This mobile phone is the main reason why Apple recently got their fastest quarterly growth in history. All this was achieved on EDGE so we could say the results are even more impressing as we do live in a world mainly looking towards 3G. Now we can only begin to imagine what will happen as Apple recently stated that a 3G iPhone will appear next year and people are already talking about it with joy and high expectancy.

It was AT&T Inc. Chief Executive, Randall Stephenson, which confirmed the rumors at an official meeting, held at the Churchill Club in Santa Clara, California. It is now official but what we still do now know is the price. According to Stephenson, the man that will have to dictate the price is Apple Inc. CEO Steve Jobs. The exact quote was “Jobs will dictate what the price of the phone is.” Well, we will now get to see good old Jobs getting a few fans or more people that don’t like him. According to him, the plans are to sell around 10 million iPhones in 2008, thus obtaining 1% of the mobile phone market. Also, these sales will make the iPhone one of the most sold smart phones around the world or at least it will be situated in the top 5. The good news for Apple is that it is quite possible that they will sell more than 10 million iPhones. Sales in September totaled 1.5 million and with 3G coming we can only wonder as to the result. The only drawback can be price as Steve Jobs did say in the past that such a move will raise the price of the iPhone.
